 . £14,995.00 + p&p Batch of 15 Models Only... ORDER BOOK NOW OPEN! A NUMBER OF RESERVATIONS ALREADY RECEIVED! LMS Duchess Class Designed by Sir William A. Stanier the first of these magnificent locomotives was built at Crewe in 1937. With a tractive effort of 40,000lb these 4 cylinder locomotives were extremely powerful and can be seen as a response by LMS to the LNER A4's, built less than 2 years earlier. In fact many maintain that if it were not for the storm clouds of World War II gathering that the LMS could have snatched the world speed record for steam from the LNER A4 Mallard. The first locomotives out of Crewe works were originally built as streamliners. Later some were built without streamlining. All of the streamliners were finally re-built in un-streamlined form, and all eventually featured double chimneys. The model offered here is representative of the class as re-built. This batch of locomotives has the benefit of carrying some of the most prestigious names in the class to include Coronation and Duchess of Hamilton. The locomotives were produced in a variety of liveries in BR days including maroon, blue and lined green. The 5" Gauge Model This magnificent model is built to a near exact scale of 1:11.3. Although a 4 cylinder model of this size and quality can never be cheap it certainly offers tremendous value-for-money. You would be hard pushed to purchase a commercial boiler and raw castings for much less than the £12,495.00 + VAT we are asking for this model. Certainly a one-off build by a professional model maker would cost you many fold this with some medal winning examples changing hands at auction in excess of £100,000. This model is sure to be a real head turner on the track pulling a substantial load, or when on display in your home, or office. The model comes complete with a silver soldered copper boiler, hydraulically tested to twice working pressure. All our boilers are CE and UKCA marked, supplied with a manufacturer's shell test certificate, and Declaration of Conformity. As testament to our confidence in the models we provide a full 5 years warranty on every product. We've presently booked sufficient factory capacity for the manufacture of just 15 models. Order reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
5 YEAR WARRANTY
You can secure your
model with a deposit of just £1,995. For an order placed now, we
will request an interim payment of £5,000 in January 2025 as the
build of your model progresses, a further stage payment of
£5,000 will be requested in February and a final payment of
£3,000 in March/April 2025 in advance of shipping from our
supplier.
*Terms and Conditions 5 Year Warranty For a period of 5 years from the date of delivery we will replace and fit any defective component or rectify any fault free of charge providing the model is returned back to us by the customer. Buy Back Guarantee At any time after two years following the original date of delivery to the customer we undertake to buy back your model at the price you paid subject to the model remaining mint and un-steamed and in the condition supplied, including the transit box. Your refund will be made no later than 6 months following the return of the model, or as soon as the model is resold.
